This type of survey is focusing on damage or emerging defect.  The extent of the damage is ascertained and recorded after a complete damage inspection, so that the damage repairs can be started from a suitable base line.

The description of the boat and the investigation of the prevailing conditions leading to the incident are included in the survey. In addition, we collect owners’, captains’ or witnesses’ signed statements.

A preliminary report is provided immediately after the initial inspection, including gathered evidence, owners’ allegation, circumstances and cause of the incident, the extent of damage, the recommended damage repairs to be carried out, estimation of damage repair cost, as well as surveyor’s remarks, accompanied by relative photographs and explanations.

Upon submission of the complete file and final damage repair accounts, the official survey report is issued. This report includes, the surveyor’s opinion as far as the alleged cause of damage, the surveyor’s remarks noted during the repair work, and after relatively informing and explaining to the owner’s party, the damage repair accounts adjustment.  The survey report is issued, without prejudice to the parties concerned.
